Istanbul 2010 ECOC Agency presents the Istanbul 2010 ECOC SANAT LİMANI a new venue for exhibitions at the Warehouse #5 in attempt to fulfill the location requirements of exhibitions to be realized in Istanbul. The place is designed as an art center model which has a permanent location in public domain.

SANAT LİMANI, with this regard, will also serve as an information, communication and meeting place during the Istanbul 2010 process.

A brand new exhibition venue Two stairs of 3.600 m2 are renewed with technical and aesthetical aspects at warehouse 5 in Tophane to comply .with contemporary exhibition standards. Allocated by the Ministry of Transportation to the use of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency until the end of 2010, the SANAT LİMANI will be hosting exhibitions approved by the Agency.

The warehouse #5 is making its debut as SANAT LİMANI with four international exhibitions:

Curators from Bulgaria, Maria Vassileva, Iara Boubnova, Luchezar Boyadjiev conceived and realized the exhibition, 'BEYOND CREDIT - Contemporary Art and Mutual Trust', with important artworks of famous international artists. The exhibition is one of the significant events of Istanbul, European Cultural Capital 2010 and it is realized on the occasion of the Cultural Corridors Summit of Presidents and Prime Ministers of South-eastern European Countries. It will take place at the Sanat Limanı, situated in the Antrepo compounds at Tophane.

On view from June 19th to July 18th at the Sanat Limani galleries in Karakőy, the Istanbul Otherwise exhibit presents the designs of contemporary Turkish designers and students from Europe's important design schools as they reinterpret objects from Istanbul's historic past and culture. Created and organized by Arzu Gőknar and Zeynep Sengel of Proje and supported by the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, after being exhibited at Domus Academy, Milan, Universitat Bauhaus Weimar and Yildiz Technical University, the Istanbul Otherwise exhibits the works of these seven international designers as they reinterpret traditional Turkish objects in Istanbul's newest art space, Sanat Limanı.
